LIFE UPDATE

TLDR; Katie’s graduating, and studying for an actuarial exam; Current Boy is amazing but says we need to talk. Life is nothing but studying and boy drama, as usual.

Okay, so I haven’t been posting anything much lately, and I think its time for a big ol’ rambling post about what I’ve been up to.

It has been over a month since I wrote my last university final exam. I managed to pass all my classes, and even got my GPA up enough that I get to add ‘First Class’ onto the end of my degree. Like I’m part of the X-Men or something. I feel like I may have already posted about that though.. Anyway, since then, I’ve “primarily” been studying for the Society of Actuary’s exam C. That’s what my intentions were anyway. I’ve also been spending a lot of time with friends, sleeping, wasting time on the internet, and occasionally hanging out with the Current Boy.

Ah, the Current Boy. That term is starting to have a lot less meaning to me than it once did. It’s a much more transitive state than it used to feel. Anyway, I’m going to write a bit about that, mostly so I have some record of how this boy makes me feel right now. I met him through a friend from school about 6 weeks ago. Maybe 7 now? Yea, 7 weeks. I was at an actuarial club gathering, but I wasn’t particularly fond of most of my classmates at that time, so I ended up spending most of the night talking to the two friends of the previously mentioned school friend. One of them was the Current Boy (from now on I’ll call him CB). I liked him, but he left fairly early and I didn’t really make any kind of move. By that weekend though, he had managed to get my phone number and let me know that he had also liked me. We hung out within the week.
That was shortly before classes ended though, so we both got really busy (he’s in university too). Since then, we’ve hung out about once a week. He’s really easy to talk to, and we get along well, and he’s fun and attractive and smart and interesting.
But this week, he told me that he thinks we should have a “talk”. Yea, that talk. He wants us to be clear on where each of us stand. We hung out on Tuesday with intentions of having this talk, but we got a bit… distracted. So now it’s just sort of hanging in the air, since my exam is in one week and I’ve decided to cut myself off from the world until that’s done.
Maybe I’m just cynical about boys these days, but I really don’t think he’s going to suggest we make this more official/serious. Which leaves two possible results of this talk: 1) we continue this casual un-labelled relationship, 2) we end it altogether. I’m rooting for number 1, since I have no need to be in a real relationship right now, and I do really enjoy his company. Ending things will be tough on me. Again.
I want to say I’m going to stop letting boys take over my life if CB ends things, but I thought I had already done that when I met him. He’s supposed to be that guy who comes along when you aren’t looking for him.

Well, it’s pretty obvious that I have nothing very important going on in my life. Just more boy drama and studying. I’d apologize for the long post, but it isn’t like I post often anyway. Plus you got to see some of my torso.

What happens?

Do they figure out what they all have in common? (you)
Do they join forces to leave the room? 

These are the things that I ponder. 

All I want right this second, is for someone to text me good night.
